Press Play: Music Matters Auction featured in Relix

We’re excited to share that Can’d Aid’s Music Matters Auction is making waves in the national music community, with a recent feature in Relix Magazine highlighting the impact and excitement behind this one-of-a-kind fundraiser.

The Music Matters Auction brings together unforgettable live music experiences, rare memorabilia, and signed instruments, all in support of expanding access to music education through Can’d Aid’s Instruments for Change program. Since its founding, Can’d Aid has helped deliver more than 4,400 instruments to under-resourced schools across the country, empowering students to discover creativity, confidence, and connection through music.

Timed to coincide with Music in Our Schools Month, the auction underscores a simple but powerful truth: every musician starts somewhere, and for many, that journey begins in a classroom. Research continues to show that music education plays a critical role in young people’s cognitive development, as well as their social and emotional growth.

What makes this auction especially exciting and worthy of national attention is the caliber of items available. As noted in the Relix feature, bidders can access once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, including VIP festival packages, exclusive concert tickets, and instruments signed by celebrated artists like Tyler Childers and Steve Martin alongside the Grammy-award winning Steep Canyon Rangers.

From multi-day passes to beloved festivals like Telluride Bluegrass Festival and RockyGrass to a full year of shows at Denver’s Mission Ballroom, the auction offers something for every kind of music fan. These experiences not only celebrate the power of live music but also connect supporters directly to the cause, helping ensure more students have access to instruments and music programs in their schools.

The recognition from Relix reflects a growing awareness around the importance of equitable access to music education and the innovative ways Can’d Aid is working to close that gap. By combining the passion of the music community with tangible opportunities to give back, the Music Matters Auction is more than a fundraiser, it’s a movement to invest in the next generation of musicians.

Bidding is open March 16 – March 31, and every bid helps put instruments into the hands of students who need them most.
