An Evening of Music, Community, and Impact: Kicking Off Our Instruments for Change House Concert Series
We recently kicked off our Instruments for Change House Concert Series in Lyons, Colorado with an unforgettable evening alongside Tunes Ambassador Daniel Kimbro, a Grammy-nominated recording artist, bandleader, producer, and composer whose talent and presence set the tone for what this series is all about.
These house concerts are rooted in a simple but powerful belief: when people come together to share a meal, engage in meaningful conversation, and experience live music up close, something deeper happens. Connections are formed, stories are shared, and a collective commitment to supporting music education begins to grow.
Raised on American Roots music in Eastern Tennessee, Daniel brings more than two decades of experience performing alongside renowned artists including Eric Clapton, Jerry Douglas, John Hiatt, Sarah Jarosz, and Larkin Poe. But beyond his impressive résumé, what stood out most was his ability to connect, transforming the evening into something personal, memorable, and inspiring for everyone in the room.
Moments like these are about more than great music—they’re about impact.
Research continues to show that music education extends far beyond the classroom. Students engaged in music programs often demonstrate improved academic performance, stronger memory and language development, and increased focus. Just as importantly, music provides a powerful outlet for self-expression, helping young people build confidence, process emotions, and strengthen their mental health and overall well-being. Looking ahead, our Spring and Summer 2026 House Concert Series will feature a dynamic lineup of Can’d Aid Tunes Ambassadors alongside talented local and regional artists. Each gathering will continue to build momentum—deepening community connections, elevating the power of live music, and amplifying our mission to ensure more young people have access to music education.
