Celebrating Music in Our Schools Month: Amplifying Music Education Across the Country

March is Music in Our Schools Month—a time to celebrate the power of music education and the teachers, students, and supporters who keep it thriving in classrooms across the country.

Can’d Aid is marking the month with a full calendar of impactful events that bring instruments and resources directly to students and music educators.

With more than 3.5 million students lacking access to music education, every instrument donation and teacher grant we provide truly matters. Thanks to supporters and partners nationwide, we’re continuing to expand opportunities for students to learn, play, and grow through music.

Music in motion

Throughout March, our community of Tunes Ambassadors, donors and partners are helping amplify music education in meaningful ways.

🎵  Instrument Donation – March 11
Tunes Ambassadors Hancock & Shouse surprised students at White Hall Elementary School in Richmond, Kentucky with the donation of 15 guitars to support the school’s growing music program.

🎶 Private Benefit Concert – March 19
A special fundraising event in Birmingham, Alabama will feature performances from longtime Tunes Ambassadors Woody Platt and Shannon Whitworth, helping raise funds to support music education programs nationwide.

🎻 Kimbro House Concert – March 29
Music supporters will gather in Lyons, Colorado for an intimate evening of food, community, and music with Grammy-nominated artist Daniel Kimbro. This special house concert directly benefits music education programs through Can’d Aid.

🫶 Students Helping Students – March 29
At Synapse School in Menlo Park, California, students and parents are coming together for a hands-on service project—decorating and assembling 30 ukuleles that will be donated to under-resourced music programs across the Bay Area.

🎤 Fans Fuel the Mission
Our newest Tunes Ambassadors, The Kitchen Dwellers, recently turned three shows in Denver, Colorado into more than $4,200 raised from their generous fans to support music education.

🍎 Supporting Unsung Heroes
We’re also excited to expand Music Teacher Grants, providing direct funding to the educators who work tirelessly to bring music into their classrooms every day.

Keep the Music Playing

Music education builds confidence, creativity, and connection for students everywhere—but access isn’t guaranteed.

During Music in Our Schools Month and beyond, Can’d Aid is committed to making sure more students have the chance to pick up an instrument and discover the power of music.

Together, we’re helping music programs grow, supporting dedicated educators, and ensuring the next generation of musicians has the opportunity to play.
