Volunteers float, plant trees and restore Gunnison River

Can’d Aid rallied 27 volunteers to spend their Saturday in the Gunnison Valley protecting and restoring the river. First, they spent the morning clearing trash, pipe and debris from a future load-in site and park, then they loaded into river rafts to float the Gunnison. From there, volunteers planted willow and cottonwood trees to help secure the riverbed and protect native species. It was hot and backbreaking, but they had plenty of cold Oskar Blues brews to keep them cool!

A huge thank you to RRAFT (River Restoration Adventures for Tomorrow) and Colorado Trout Unlimited for helping make this project happen!
