Mila Sketch wins CANvas CANpaign
The competition was fierce, yet in the end, only one artist could win CAN’d Aid’s first-ever CANvas CANpaign. With all of the votes tallied, we are very proud to announce that Mila Sketch, an Austin based artist, is the official winner! Her work embodies a love for Mama Earth, importance of sustainability and that aluminum cans are infinitely recyclable. As the winner, Mila will receive $2,500 and her artwork will be featured on one million cans of clean drinking water. Drew Button won 2nd place, Abbi Arneson 3rd place and Brian Begley and Eric Rivers are runners up.
To date, CAN’d Aid has worked with Oskar Blues Brewery and the Ball Corporation to can, ship and donate over 900,000 cans of drinking water to communities in need. This includes 498,240 cans sent to Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico following massive devastation and flooding from Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.
A huge thank-you is in order to each artist that submitted work. We’re grateful for the time and creativity you poured into this program.
